The Queensland Community Philanthropist of the Year Award will recognise an outstanding individual, family or family foundation with a proven record of exceptional financial generosity and volunteer leadership to one or more Queensland based non-profit organisations.

The recipient of this award will have the privilege of nominating a charity of their choice to receive a $2,000 donation.


The successful nominee will possess the following qualities:

  • A Queensland philanthropist with an established record of outstanding philanthropic support to a diversity of causes/organisations within the Queensland community.
  • Demonstrated extraordinary civic and charitable responsibility.
  • Demonstrated generosity that has inspired others to philanthropic action.
  • The compelling contributions and achievements of a philanthropic leader, whose long-term commitments have benefited the Queensland community.

The criteria for the award will focus on philanthropy that is outstanding in its generosity – effective and impactful – and that exemplifies qualities such as commitment, inspiration and leadership.

All nominees will receive a certificate of nomination.

All nominees will be invited to attend the launch of Queensland Philanthropy Week.

All nominees are welcome to purchase tickets to the Awards presentation where the winners will be announced on Friday 7 June 2024. Event details will be available closer to the date.

All nominees will be acknowledged at the Awards presentation.

Submissions will be reviewed by an external Selection Panel for announcement at the 2024 Queensland Philanthropy Awards.

Nomination Tips

  1. Provide detailed information about the nominee’s philanthropic support for ALL charities.
  2. Write your nomination in a Word document and copy text over into the nomination form to avoid losing any data.
